Bianka Panova Bags 7 Awards at Singapore Open 2018
Singapore, 27 June, 2018—Singapore-based rhythmic gymnastics school Bianka Panova Sports and Art Academy (BPSAA) took home a total of seven awards, including one Gold, one Silver, and five Bronze awards, at the 15th Singapore Open Rhythmic Gymnastics Competition.
The event was held from the 8th to 12th of June 2018 at the Bishan Sports Hall. First started in 2004, the competition has seen significant growth in recent years. Students of BPSAA were pitted against contenders from gymnastics academies in Singapore, South Korea, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
Low Yu Yenn, representing Singapore, won a Bronze for FIG Junior Individual-Team. Pan Annan bagged three awards, one Gold for Individual All-around for the Age Group 12 & Under, and two Bronze awards for Ribbon and Ball under the same age division.
For the Age Group 10 & Under, Ayala Michaely and Rena Lim took home one Bronze award each for Ball and Clubs, respectively. Meanwhile, BPSAA representatives for the Age Group 10 & Under Team division, Rena Lim, Ayala Michaely, and Neina Goldberg, won a Silver.
According to BPSAA Co-founder and Director Daniela Michaely, “Singapore Open serves a great opportunity for gymnasts to compete against participants from across the globe. This year has witnessed a significant growth in the number of international-level participants and we are very happy to see that there is such an improvement.”
Bianka Panova, the Co-founder and Head Coach, also said, “Singapore is starting to produce strong contenders in gymnastics and we hope that the country will become a Rhythmic Gymnasts hub one day. Also, we are thrilled that our students are representing Singapore on the world stage.”
